Alan Ruck

Alan Ruck, better known as Cameron Frye from Ferris Buellers Day off and Stuart Bondek from Spin City was a very nice guy. I met him in Detroit during a convention there. He was actually pretty funny and friendly speaking with everybody and was very down to earth. Alan has also been in movies such as Twister, Star Trek Generations, Speed, and most recently a small role in The Happening.

Montgomery Gentry

Two years ago my wife and I met the country rockers Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. I have to say that these guys are a class act. From the moment we went backstage we were treated like friends as they graciously signed autographs and chatted. We actually had a few laughs and finally found a place where the sun wasn't shining in all our eyes for a picture. These guys put on one helluva show for anyone that hasn't seen them. They have over 20 charting singles, in which 11 were top 10 and 4 were number 1 on country radio. Eddie and Troy also won top new / vocal duo of the year in 1999 and vocal duo of the year in 2000. These guys were truly down to earth and very apprecitive of us buying their music unlike many other artist these days. Hats of to the guys of Montgomery Gentry.

Ben Wallace

Ben Wallace, One of the best defensive players to ever play the game and once the heart and soul of the Detroit Pistons. I met Ben Wallace on a couple of occasions both in Detroit at autograph signings. The first time was at DC Sports in a mall in Detroit. I was probably 50th in line and got a basketball and 8 x 10 picture signed. He was pretty quiet and really didn't say much to anybody. Honestly, I don't have a problem with that as everybody is different and he was kind enough to sign things for people so that was good enough for me. Alot of athletes don't do any public signings so its really hard to ever get something signed unless you pay big bucks and go through a dealer. The second time I met Ben Wallace was a couple weeks after they won the NBA Championship. He was at another mall with Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton. He was a little more into this one as his wife was by his side and thousands of people were there either getting an autograph or watching them from the 2nd floor of the mall. He signed a Sports Illustrated for me after about a 2 hour wait. Overall, Ben was pretty quiet, but was worth the wait to get this Pistons autograph. Ben now plays with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Eddie Money

I am starting up my blog again on Famous People I Have Met. I use to post a new blog every couple days two years back, but ran out of time to keep it updated. I am starting this up again, not only for me to recall some fun events from the past, but also to give my opinion on some of the people I have met.

I was lucky enough about 3 years ago to win a contest at our Summer Celebration of 11 nights of concerts to meet Eddie Money. I wrote and sent an article to our local paper about how much his music meant to me and the fun times I recall listening to his songs. Eddie Money was always on the radio back in the 80's. Two Tickets to Paradise, I Wanna Go Back, Take Me Home Tonight, etc. Well luckily my article won and was able to sit next to the stage for the show which was great. He sang all his hits and for being quite a bit older now, he could still get the crowd into his show.

After the show, my wife and I were escorted backstage and hung out at a picnic table with some nice beverages and food provided by the caterers. While we waited for Eddie all the members of TOTO came out also to say hi as they had the main stage next. We only waited about 10 minutes and Eddie came back and signed autographs for us and took pictures. It was very cool that he took time out of his schedule to talk with us for a couple minutes and thank us for coming.
